You're Not The Issue, Your Routine Is

February 05, 20263 min read

Most of us wake up every day and live our lives on autopilot, following the same routines we have had in place for years.

And for a while, those routines work.

But then something shifts.

You are exhausted all the time.
You are less productive.
You feel behind no matter how hard you try.

And instead of questioning the routine, you start questioning yourself.

Here is what I want you to hear loud and clear: nothing is wrong with you.
What is outdated is your routine.

Think about it this way. As we grow up, we outgrow our clothes. The jeans that fit perfectly five years ago do not fit the same version of us today, and that does not mean there is something wrong with our bodies.

Our habits and routines work the exact same way.

They are meant to evolve with us.

If you have been feeling stuck or unproductive lately, I challenge you to take a closer look at your daily routine, not with judgment, but with curiosity.

This is something I recently had to do in my own life.

For a long time, my days looked like this. I would wake up, get ready, and head straight to the gym to train clients. I would come home, work my work from home job, then head back out to train more clients. I kept telling myself, “I will do my admin work when I get home tonight.”

Spoiler alert. It never happened.

Night after night, I was exhausted. I fell further behind, felt more overwhelmed, and kept wondering why I could not just be more disciplined.

At the beginning of 2026, I decided there had to be a better way, and I was determined to find it.

So instead of forcing myself into a routine that clearly was not working, I started paying attention to myself. When did I have the most energy? When did I feel the most focused? When was I naturally motivated?

After weeks of reflection, one thing became crystal clear. Mornings were my golden ticket.

I am a morning person, and I had been completely underutilizing that.

From that point forward, I restructured my routine. Now I wake up at 4:00 a.m., get ready, make my coffee, do my devotional and journaling, and knock out my admin work before the day gets chaotic.

And I cannot overstate this enough. This single process change changed my life.

I stopped asking myself to try harder at night when my body clearly was not built for productivity then. I started working with my energy instead of against it.

Now, when I come home after training clients, I am present. I am not stressed, behind, or mentally bargaining with myself about work I did not do. It is already done.

This is why I am so deeply passionate about helping people refine their habits and routines.

Life is hard enough without constantly feeling behind.

You deserve routines that support your life, not ones that drain you.

If this resonates with you, or you feel that pull to take back control of your days, I want you to reach out. I am launching a beta life coaching program and opening just five spots for women who are ready to build routines that actually fit the season of life they are in.

Together, we will break through stagnant patterns and create habits that help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and momentum.

Because growth does not require more pressure.
It requires better alignment.

XO - Emily
